People today perhaps, more than any other time, have little hope. This seems contrary to the fact that advances in science have eased suffering, cured diseases, and prolonged lives. According to science, people should be happier and more hopeful than ever before. However rises in suicide and drug usage indicate many people feel their lives have little meaning and are empty. People are turning to things such as wealth, fame, drugs, and alcohol to fill the emptiness in their lives. Yet, in all this bleak, hopeless confusion that envelopes the world a group of people seems to transcend the garbage and find true joy and happiness. Who is this group? I am talking about Christians. Christians?! You’re probably thinking of a bunch of solemn, hypocritical killjoys that abstain from all types of fun and place themselves high on a pedestal above others. No, the Christians that I am speaking of are a group of loving people that believe in God, a higher being that created and loves all things pure and holy including you and me. The Christians that I am speaking of know that if they truly love God with every fiber of their being and try to live the life he describes in the Bible, then he will give them the gift of eternal life. They know that they are much more than their visible bodies, that they have a soul which doesn't end in death. They have the peace of mind that they will be reunited with their loved ones and fellow Christians after they die.
