A Christian is a person that has committed their life to Jesus Christ. Commitment to Christ includes acceptance of Christ as your personal savior and baptism into the body of Christ. Baptism is the immersion of the body in water into Christ for the remission of past sins. I Peter 3:21 tells us "...and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." Being a Christian means that what you think, say, and do are in accordance with God’s will. No one can be perfect and always do everything as God would like for us to do. However, God is all forgiving in that He will forgive us each and every time that we fail if we are truly sorry and seek his forgiveness. Being a Christian does not mean being perfect rather it means trying to be perfect as God would have us to be. When we fall short of God’s standard, we acknowledge our failure, ask for forgiveness, and continue to try to live up to God’s standard.
