This is our club sign. Look for it out front at our next open house on October 4th.
Business meetings: Normally the 1st Friday of each month at 7:00 P.M. except in December.
Our next business meeting will be October 3rd at 7 P.M.
Our layout was completely rebuilt in two and a half years, and construction continues on the rebuilt layout. Several areas are "complete". Of course nothing in the model railroading world is ever finished.
Our Operations committee is currently working on developing plans and procedures for operating in a prototype manner, not just running trains around in (a very large) circle. The first problem to be solved is naming of all the possible sidings and spurs, and determining what kind of carloadings are needed at each. Then there's the passenger timetable - with a six-track passenger station there are a lot of possibilities there.
Our business meetings include the necessary business to keep us
organized, then occasionally some type of program and,
of course, a stop in the dining car with snacks supplied by one of our
gourmet members.
Work sessions: Every Friday night at 7 P.M.
Operating sessions: Starting some time in 2008?
Location: 1803 N. Fifth Street, Duncan, Oklahoma.
Saturday, October 4th - Eleventh annual Fall Open House
Our Eleventh annual Spring Open House was an enjoyable event by all
who attended.
This event featured four operating layouts in O, HO, N and Z!
Now for something completely different, check out the web site
for the "Save the
905" project starting in Duncan.
This is a project to restore the Rock Island 905 rusting away in
Fuqua Park in Duncan for the last 50+ years!

We have members from Duncan to Wichita Falls to Altus; there's no
reason why you can't join us if you live anywhere in southwest
Oklahoma, or even across the Red River. New members welcome, ages 8 to
80+ (and we'll even stretch those limits!). Our members
model everything from Z to G scales. Come join us on any Friday night
during our work session and check us out.
Lawton now has a model railroad club - the Lawton Model Railroad
Association. They will be hosting an open house on May 3, 2008.
They are located at 1711 Avenue D, in Lawton. For additional information,
call 580-591-3004.
If Altus is closer to your home, try Southwestern Oklahoma
Model and Railway Society (SWOMRS). They are in the process
of moving into a new building and should have a railroad under
construction soon. They're a great bunch who frequently show up at
our open house functions.
